Mine

Not yours but Mine
My control
My power
My necessity

Not yours but MINE
My freedom
My liberation
My elevation

Not yours but MINE
My will
My drive
My passion

Not yours but MINE

That’s what I’m proud of

Through the tint

Let me see you for who you are
And not when you‘re playing along

Show me the truth in you
Please do what you do

Be yourself from the beginning
Worry nothing about the ending

Live with me in this moment
Take off those blinders

View us through the tint
And not against those hateful statistical reminders

You’re holding up a barrier
Trying to justify your fears

Stop listening to those past tears
Allow me and you to have some cheers

But you’ve been given this gift
As you sit with me in the present

Hope

Seeing the world get deeper in this mess gives me stress as I see why they hope

Because there’s no more hope for self

And the only thing many people are proud of are the achievements of some one else

Most people I know can’t see what they refuse to hear

Even if they feel how disaster can hit them so near

Maybe if they heard the warning they could have avoided the problem

But I’m sure they’ve gone deaf from ignorance screaming in their ears

All I feel is love but I argue out of anger

When I see another cop empties another clip in another brother’s heart chamber

I look for GOD but I wonder did he already come

Taking away the people we’ve lost leaving us to kill each other in eternal labor trying to get to heaven

Though I’m still driven by hope, I feel like life’s screaming nope

Punishing the good for the deeds of the bad

The balance is off and few still ride for the cause

But oddly enough I hope on without pause

SHE – 2

She walks
I glide
She speaks
I’m alive
She Moves
I Ooo
Her majestic body ignites my mind
I dream of her with me with time to do we
Playing till dawn
A tap on my arm
I wake back into my life pushed to focus on realizing our distance
But she looks
I pause
She notices my smile
Her eyes
My eyes
She knows what I feel
So she stops near
The opportunity is mine
I start with one line
“How are you?”
She’s fine…

Some Where

So busy and so far from any where I can call mine own
Even home is no where as I move through no where
Searching for a place I can call my some where
Home is where the heart was but I out grew there
I got to old for the old love even if that love will never go
Now is the time I must go find what’s my own
Some where new with memories of the old
A place I’ve been before but no longer know
Soon I will find it as I follow its voice
And when I reach it I’ll be happy
First I have to get there…some where

Definition (26)

I am the mountain top conquered
The Goal reached
The acceptance speech
I am the thrill of the finish
I am a happy ending
A shared celebration when the game is one
I am the return of a father that fought to be with his child
The words needed to be said
I am what we all need
What we work hard for
The thing in life that’s desired

I am what is around the corner and not that far from reach

I am SUCCESS

Her MAGIC

She dances
Pulls me in
Drives me crazy
Her MAGIC has me mystified
She roles her hips
Dips and twist
She makes the crowd vanish
And slows time making me twitch
I love her each song
She rocks me each verse
Her MAGIC alters our reality
Without a word I’m under her spell
She feels my hands on her waist
I pull her close
I speak to her softly
She hears me over the noise
Now she’s in my world
My words (my MAGIC)
Enters her ears making her mine

Somebody tell me

Somebody tell me can we be happy now
Can we rejoice today
Can we relax tomorrow
Can we smile right now

Somebody tell me what have we over came
What we have achieved
What we have changed
What we have we now to be proud of

Somebody tell me do we need more leaders
Do we need to be lead
Do we need to wait for a hero
Or do we need to just stand up and be strong on our own

Somebody tell me why should I back down
Tell me why my views are wrong
Explain to me why there’s no need for my words

Somebody tell me and show me proof of equality
Advancement and progress that we ALL can share
And I’ll gracefully assimilate and be happily quiet

Convince me that all is great food and glorious
Of course than I’ll be calm
But until somebody tells me everything is ok

I won’t stop fighting for you and me
