Settle in for the lone one

“It doesn't hurt anymore”
He thought to himself as the world began to slow
The loud screams began to quiet and sounded far off
As he scanned the scene for his resting position
With the people running all around
The world seemed to twist like a boat on waves
He felt warm...he felt like smiling
Even though his friends looked panicked
The girl he danced with was in tears screaming
And he noticed a few other people laying down like him
…..Not moving......
Sirens began blaring but soon faded as well
He started thinking that before this mess that laid everybody out
This was the best night of his life
He took a deep breath and started closing his eyes
“DON'T LET HIM GO TO SLEEP” some one yelled
“LIFT HIS HEAD, WAKE UP” another ordered
“NO NOO NOOOOooo” cried a familiar voice
He flashed a quick smile before he settled in
For a long well deserved rest.....
