Just like that

In a blink of an eye
The clocks tick down
The year changes
People scream and begin to sing
In a window across the street a face looks out
And just like that the smiles turn to horror

In a single moment
A child is born
He becomes a man
Meets a girl
They spend time together but they don’t think love through
A child is born as a relationship dies
And just like that the parents raise a young child in two homes

In a mind
A thought is sparked
The Moves are made
On New Years EVE a speech is to be made
Somebody plots to stop him from speaking planning hit murder
As the clock counts down he thinks of his child
The order is given to take a life
And just like that time is made to remember this moment
